Parking changes at NIC for paved lot north of Transformation Drive

The Passport Parking app will be used to pay for parking in NIC's paved lot north of Transformation Drive.

Parking changes are coming to the paved lot north of Transformation Drive for people that do not have a NIC parking permit or a UNL parking permit.

Starting April 4, 2022, people that do not have a NIC parking permit or a UNL parking permit will be required to pay for parking in the paved lot north of Transformation Drive using the Passport Parking app. This is the same parking app used when parking on the street at NIC, in downtown Lincoln and in the Haymarket.

Parking Zones:

The paved lot north of Transformation Drive will be Zone 9900 on the Passport Parking app. On-street metered parking at NIC is Zone 80. On-street metered parking in downtown Lincoln and in the Haymarket is Zone 75.

Enforcement:
Paid parking will be enforced from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. On-street metered parking is also enforced from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

If you have a NIC parking permit or a UNL parking permit:

  • You will not use the app to pay to park at NIC. Your parking permit is valid in lots around NIC buildings and the paved lot north of Transformation Drive. Please continue to park where/how you normally park.
  • Lots around the buildings at NIC will remain permit only. People without a NIC/UNL parking permit will not be allowed to park in the lots around NIC buildings using the Passport Parking app.
