“Once Upon a Time…The Sherman-Howard County Baseball League” exhibition

Thursday, March 28, 2024 - 8:00am to 8:00pm Nebraska Innovation Campus, 2nd Floor Link

Usher in your 2024 baseball season with a visit to Nebraska Innovation Campus which you will recognize as the former 4-H building during the Nebraska State Fair days. Come experience the “Once Upon a Time…The Sherman-Howard County Baseball League,” a unique town team baseball photo collection that is making its 26th stop at Nebraska Innovation Campus. Put on your jersey, grab the wife (you’d be surprised the stories women have), kids, grandparents, grandkids and former teammates to spend the afternoon reminiscing and story-telling. What started out with a 1926 Howard County Championship photo with his grandfather in it has not stopped. When Randy ” bat man” Lukasiewicz , a long time ago asked Coach Osborne, who has roots back to Farwell, NE, a small Polish village rich in baseball tradition, what he should do with all his pictures, Coach Osborne simply replied, “I’m sure you’ll think of something.” He was right. Grab a drink, snack or cup of coffee at The Mill Coffee & Bistro and then come up to the 2nd floor gallery and stroll the countless photos with descriptions and memorabilia from the memorable era of Sunday afternoons at the ball park with the sounds of wooden bats and steel cleats. Many more Sherman-Howard video clips can be found on YouTube @ Farwell Athletic Club. This exhibit is free and open to the public daily from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
