Nebraska Innovation Studio offers holiday fun, looks at maker technology

Lauren Zeleny scrutinizes the innards of a laser-cutting machine as it works on a paper snowflake on Saturday at Nebraska Innovation Campus.

Through a Plexiglass window, kids stared down into the big whirring machine as lasers turned paper into snowflakes. They sat on stools or peered on tip toes while parents hovered over them, trying to catch their own glance.

This laser cutter and many other attractions, which included button and ornament making, were all part of Saturday's Holiday Maker Extravaganza at Nebraska Innovation Studio located on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Innovation Campus.

The event was the first public event for Nebraska Innovation Studio, a membership-based and university affiliated outlet for people to use next generation technology. The motivation was all about providing a fun, hands-on holiday event for kids and parents alike. Read More
