Former California ag secretary to deliver Heuermann Lecture

Former California Secretary of Agriculture Arthur Gen "A.G." Kawamura will discuss water and global resources during the next Heuermann Lecture at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The free lecture, sponsored by the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, will be at 4:30 p.m. April 12 at the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center, 2021 Transformation Drive.

The Mill Coffee & Bistro to open at Nebraska Innovation Campus

NIC's first restaurant has deep roots in Lincoln.

Daniel and Tamara Sloan, owners of The Mill Coffee & Tea, announced their plans to open a third Lincoln location at Nebraska Innovation Campus this summer.

The new shop, to be called The Mill Coffee & Bistro, will feature The Mill’s signature coffees and teas as well as an expanded food menu of breakfast items, lunch items, small plates, snacks, wine and beer.

NIC welcomes new partner to Biotech Connector

Nebraska Innovation Campus has announced a new partner. Dan Duncan, NIC’s executive director, said Adjuvance Technologies Inc. will move into Biotech Connector space on the campus this summer.

University staff spinoff is latest Nebraska Innovation Campus partner

Nebraska Innovation Campus has announced a new partner. Dan Duncan, NIC’s executive director, said Bolero Information Systems LLC will move into space on the campus this spring.

Bolero Information Systems, a software development spinoff founded by staff members at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is a web application development and design company that specializes in research administration and business process automation.

Plant breeding symposium is March 14

The Department of Agronomy and Horticulture invites scientists, researchers, plant breeders, genomicists and students from across the nation to the Nebraska Plant Breeding Symposium from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 14, at the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center.

Frontier Co-op joins Alliance for Advanced Sanitation

Frontier Co-op, a leader in natural and organic products, has joined the Alliance for Advanced Sanitation.

The alliance, previously called the Alliance for Advanced Food Sanitation, launched by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and founding industry partners in 2015, works to improve sanitation approaches and practices with and for the food industry.

Fungi expert helps craft beer project

A fungi expert at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln has helped define the funk behind Nebraska's first all-homegrown craft beer.

Nebraska's Heather Hallen-Adams holds a beaker of the yeast she helped identify for Lincoln's Boiler Brewing Company. The yeast was used to brew Nebraska Native, an American wild ale and the first commercially available craft beer made only from Nebraska ingredients.

3M joins Alliance for Advanced Food Sanitation

Materials science company 3M has joined the Alliance for Advanced Food Sanitation, launched last year by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The partnership stemmed from a research collaboration between 3M and the university's Food Processing Center.
